I'm a writer.
I write freelance articles for newspapers and magazines where I focus mainly on everyday hopes, triumphs, and challenges. On families and seniors. I especially like to write about looking after—and out for—one another.
I also try my hand at fiction from time to time. On other occasions, I write speeches, toasts, and letters for people who might be stuck for those elusive right words for a special occasion or an important message.
Look for my non-fiction, light-humor column "So How's Your Week Been Going?" each week in one of your local papers. (Suggestion: If you don't see my column in your favorite publication—in Canada, the United States, or elsewhere—please let me know!.)
You can go directly to my Reading Corner to read my fictional e-stories online now.
I invite you to subscribe to my free newsletter to keep up-to-date with information about my latest projects, as well as for tips on how to push our boundaries to enjoy life to the fullest, at any age!
My non-fiction articles are general interest pointers for anyone interested in families, struggles with aging, and how to cope with life while maintaining grace and humor.
My fiction work covers a broad range of interests, from historical fiction to children's literature.
"Cindy's Cove" is the title of my print series about a fictional coastal community. You can follow the residents of "Cindy's Cove" as they try to pull together in an against-the-odds struggle to maintain their way of life—and think up unexpected new ways to survive in the place they love.
I also often write fiction especially for women—whether they are in their twenties or their forties or their seventies. I write for women who understand the anxiety of multi-generational care and who know how the patterns of our lives change with our years, as well as the needs of our families.
In fact, you can read some of these e-stories on this web site. These short stories, seen through the eyes of maturity, are generally upbeat, but also poignant, reflective, and sometimes a touch romantic in nature. Why not take a moment now to relax—and read about "Changing Pace"?
I appreciate your visiting this site. I hope you can take time to browse through my links, visit my Reading Corner, and subscribe to my free newsletter.
Some of the recipes from the stories have been posted!
(The Cindy's Cove web site is under construction; when it's ready, I'll link to it from here.)
And yes, I have a special affinity for lonely little islands in the sea.
